Crunch time for Magpies

12:00pm Fri 5th Feb 10:: written by Charles Watts

Maidenhead United play the first of two games this weekend that boss Johnson ‘Drax’ Hippolyte says could shape their season.

The Magpies host Bishops Stortford on tomorrow (Saturday) and then make the journey to Hertfordshire on Tuesday night to take on St Albans.

Like United, both sides have struggled for points in recent games and have started to slip down the table.

Bishops Stortford sit just three places above the Magpies, while St Albans are just one place above Drax’s side.

And so he knows these are the games his side must be winning if they are to move themselves away from the bottom half.

“They are two very important games for us,” said Drax.

“Both teams are sides we are targeting to finish above.

“They are both above us in the league at the moment but we have games in hand on them so we will be in a good position if we can beat them”
