Khan - Youngsters will be winners

12:00pm Thu 21st Jan 10:: written by Greame Copas

Maidenhead suffered their 15th straight league defeat at Cleve on Saturday, but head coach Ricky Khan believes there is hope for the future.

After his team went down 22-3, Khan told the Advertiser: “We have suffered from injuries, but this has allowed us to bring  young players through.

“On Saturday Billy Evans, who was a colt last year, played on the wing and did not let himself down.

“Players like this don’t have the experience and tools to deliver at this level at the moment. But we are focused on bringing players through and they will be good enough one day - they just have to keep believ- ing and working hard.

“They are talented but need patience.”
