Fisher misses out in Dubai

ROSS Fisher missed out on the chance to finish the season as Europe's number one golfer after a disappointing four days at the Dubai World Championship.
The 29-year-old went in to the event as one of four players who could still claim the inaugural Race to Dubai title.
But a poor first round of one over par on Thursday left him too much to do and despite improving a bit over the next three days he couldn't claw back those ahead of him on the leaderborad.
He finished on one under, a massive 22 shots behind winner Lee Westwood whose superb victory ensured he took the first ever Race To Dubai title, just pipping Rory McIlroy to the prize.
Fisher has still enjoyed his finest ever season as a tour professional, however, finishing fourth in the European standings, amassing prize money of £2.285,680 over the campaign.
