Fisher finishes fifth at US Open after pushing Glover all the way

It's been quite a week for Ascot's Ross Fisher.
The Wentworth golfer has been in the mix all week at the rain-soaked Bethpage Black in New York and came close to becoming the first Englishman since Tony Jacklin in 1970 to win the US Open.
He was on the leaderboard all week after playing some fantastic tee and approach shots, but was let down by his putting as he slipped to a fifth place finish on the final day to finish one under par - his best major finish.
"It's something I will never forget," said the 28-year-old. "This is only my second US Open. But what an experience.
At one point yesterday (Monday), Fisher - who's monthly tour diary can be read in the Express - was one shot off leader Lucas Glover alongside world No.2 Phil Mickelson.
He struck a superb eagle putt on the 13th hole, but bogeys on the 15th and 17th took him to a round of 72 as the unknown American Glover held his nerve to lift the famous trophy.
"That kind of stopped me in my tracks," said Fisher of the bogeys. "But it just shows how good a mental strength I have that I can bounce back and hit two of the best shots I've hit all week and finally holed a putt for an eagle. That got me back into it."
He added: "I can now compete with the best players in the world.
"This is where you want to be - to have a chance of winning a major is something I'll never forget. I'm absolutely shattered now.
"I can't wait to get home and go and work on my putting because if I could have sunk just a couple of putts I think I could have won this comfortably.
"It's been a really frustrating week, probably the best I've ever hit the ball tee to green. I just couldn't get it in the hole. But it's been a phenomenal week and I've really enjoyed it."
Fisher took home £177,406 for his fifth place finish.
It has been an impressive year for Fisher who is fourth in the European Order of Merit (now known as the Race to Dubai).
The world No.29 was also a close second to Paul Casey in the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth last month.
His attentions will now turn to The Open Championship where he will be hoping to build on his experiences this week and claim his first major win.
All eyes on the Fish.
