THE Desborough strike force of Debbie Stavrou, Katrina Jones and Lorraine Woodley were knocked out of the triples section of the Women’s National Bowls Championships at Loddon Vale, Basingstoke on Tuesday, losing by just one shot (17-16) to Ryedale.
The reached the semis by beating Bournemouth 15-13 in the first round and Colchester 18-15 in the last eight.
In the pairs event Stavrou and Jones face Cumbria in the first round today (Thursday), while Cumbria are also the opponents in the fours event on Saturday for Stavrou, Jones, Woodley and Norah Holder.
In the singles event, Stavrou will face Cumbria’s Karen Edmondson today in the first round.
