Cracknell in England squad for London Sevens

9:23am Mon 18th May 09:: written by Steve Spencer

Former Maidenhead RFC youngster Chris Cracknell will line up at Twickenham for England for the London leg of the IRB World Sevens Series.

Exeter Chiefs star Cracknell, who was part of the winning squad at the Adelaide Sevens, is joined by the likes of new London Wasps winger Tom Varndell in the squad for the event this weekend.

With just two legs left in this year's series remaining, England need to pick up full points if they are to close the 28-point gap between themselves and leaders South Africa, and fend off the impressive Fijians, who trail them by just two points.

England kick off against France on the Saturday, before taking on Georgia and defending London champions Samoa.
