A Datchet singer and her choir are out of  the BBC's Last Choir Standing TV show after a tense stand off in the semi finals on Saturday.

However Freyja Sculpher, 23, from Datchet, and the ACM choir have been invited back to sing with legend Russell Watson in a special performance of Stevie Wonder's 'Heaven Help Us All' on the grand final of the show which will be screened on Saturday, August 30.

The choir are also releasing their first album 'ACM College Choir', which features a selection of 'gospel-y' numbers and which will be available on Itunes from Monday.

Despite winning praise for their performances of 'Higher and Higher' and 'I'll Be There' and Russell Watson declaring that ACM stood for 'Absolute Choral Masterclass', the choir was voted off the show by the public after going head to head with Welsh group Ysgol Glanaethwy in the penultimate Clash of the Choirs.

Freyja said: "When we were standing up there waiting for the vote it was incredibly tense."

Despite the disappointment, she added: "We have gained so much out of it, so much experience and we have learned so much about ourselves as people."
