A man has been arrested by police in Maidenhead this afternoon on suspicion of burglary and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

Police were called at about 11.20am following the report of a burglary in progress in Holmanleaze.

Police said it is thought the suspect got into a car which was involved in a collision near Maidenhead Fire Station. The suspect is then thought to have tried to drive off in a van in Ray Mill Road West.

Police temporarily closed off part of Ray Mill Road West this afternoon while they carried out their investigations.
