O'Connor returns to Slough Town

Well-travelled hitman Craig O’Connor will be back in the amber and blue of Slough Town FC next season.

O’Connor started the last campaign leading the Rebels’ front line, but was tempted away from Holloways Park by Burnham boss Jamie Jarvis after just 13 appearances and three goals to his name.

Things didn’t pan out quite as O’Connor had hoped at The Gore and he decided to leave the Blues to return to former club Beaconsfield Sycob, where he had spent the previous season.

Steve Bateman’s capture of the journeyman striker, who has also played for Windsor & Eton and Maidenhead United, brings the search for a new forward to an end.

“Craig O’Connor will return to us,” manager Bateman confirmed to the Express yesterday (Thursday).

“To be fair to Craig I had been in discussions with him since he moved to Burnham. He didn’t see out the season there for various reasons.

“I’m pleased to have him back. He’s an all-action centre forward, which is something we don’t have.”
