A prestigious Queen's Award for voluntary work has been won by the Windsor and Maidenhead Community Forum (WAMCF).

The forum, chaired by Karnail Pannu (pictured) aims to foster better links between different social and cultural backgrounds in Windsor and Maidenhead and was nominated for the award by the Royal Borough.

Harjit Hunjan, the Royal Borough's business and community partnership manager, said: "We are delighted that the forum has done so well.

"The council really values the work that Mr Pannu and his colleagues do with the community. They organise a number of events in the borough such as a diversity day and football matches."

Members from WAMCF will be presented with the Queen's Award during a reception on March 26.
