Maids plan Cannon red card appeal

12:00pm Thu 18th Feb 10

Maids are awaiting the referee’s report before deciding what action they will take about Alex Cannon’s red card on Saturday.

Cannon was dismissed for an alleged stamp during the 41-17 defeat against Barnstaple.

But it seems that he may have been involved in a case of mistaken identity.

Maids coach Ricky Khan said: “Barnstaple are saying the wrong guy got carded and Alex is saying that to.

“We’re waiting for the referee’s report before deciding what we can do.

“There will be a hearing for the red card with the RFU where we can put a case forward.

“Alex is obviously disappointed because he feels he’s been wrongly accused.”
