VIDEO: £2m improvements to olympic training centre

10:07am Fri 23rd Oct 09:: written by John Balson

A £2million investment in Bisham Abbey will help propel some of Team GB's brightest sporting starts onto 2012 Olympic Glory, an MP has predicted.

Minister for Sport Gerry Sutcliffe headed to the sports facility yesterday to view the improvements, including a state of the art strength and conditioning gym , video analysis equipment and an indoor 30-metre indoor track.

The money has come from Sport England and the English Institute of Sport.

MP Mr Sutcliffe said: "The difference between finishing on the podium and missing out on a medal is tiny, so we need to ensure our athletes have the best training support possible to go for gold."

Olympic rower Katherine Grainger was down at Bisham Abbey putting in some training and she spoke to the Minister about the new facilities.
