She'd do anything...

Most aspiring performers will do anything for West End fame.

And for former Redroofs Theatre School pupil Tara Williams, that included appearing in BBC television show I'd Do Anything, a search for the nation's ultimate Nancy to star in the musical Oliver.

Talented Tara, who trained at the prestigious school based in Littlewick Green and Bath Road in Maidenhead from the age of 16, beat thousands of other hopefuls to win a place on the weekly live shows hosted by Graham Norton.

Over the past few weeks, viewers have seen the 24 year-old battle it out with 11 others for the coveted role of Nancy, in front of a panel of celebrity judges and musical legend Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Sadly Welsh-born Tara's time in the limelight was cut short when she was the third contestant to be eliminated on Sunday (April 13).

She might not be Nancy, but her loyal supporters at Redroofs say that Tara, who won an award for Student of the Year at the school, is still a star.

"She is extremely talented and was a model pupil during her time with us," said Sam Keston, a partner at Redroofs.
"She was superb on the show; I thought she sung her closing Nancy song exceptionally well.
"It brought tears to my eyes. You could even see on Andrew Lloyd Webber's face that he was moved by the performance. We have all been rooting for her and voting every week."
