1:32pm Wed 23rd Jun 10:: written by Laura Enfield

Police suspect a gang of criminals may be targeting the borough after a series of burglaries.

Ten properties have been hit in the past fortnight and all were being renovated or were empty at the time.

Two burglaries were in the Cox Green area, one in White Waltham, and others at various locations including Wraysbury, Littlewick Green and Windsor.

Items such as boilers, carpets and radiators being stolen. At one property in All Saints Avenue, Maidenhead, burglars stole a cooker and made off with it in a wheelbarrow. Workmen’s tools have also been taken.

Crime Reduction Advisor Caroline Heard said: "It is possible that the burglar or burglars are doing work on their own property or selling the items on. It appears that they are taking notice of properties like these and then targeting them."

Police are keeping an open mind as to whether the incidents are linked but have warned residents to be vigilant
Anyone with information should contact police on 0845 8505505 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
