LISTEN: Carnival kids record charity single

A kids' club has lived a Band Aid dream by recording a charity single which they will perform for the carnival crowds this weekend.

The group of 10 from Sima's Action Kids bound into the centre of London to record their Latin single, which has a carnival quality about it.

Two to nine-year-olds wrote the lyrics after a musician from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama laid down a track after a brief from the group.

"They all had their headphones on and the girls felt like Hannah Montana," said Sima Stannage, who has been running the Maidenhead club for more than five years.
"They kept on saying they needed to re-record it so they could go in the studio again."

They will be on stage at Maidenhead Carnival on Saturday afternoon, dancing to their track for revellers. Sima then hopes to release the song as a charity single.
