The Olympic spirit came alive in Datchet on Monday when a school held their own version of the games.

Pupils from reception to year six at Eton End School, in Eton Road, were divided into 20 different nations as they competed against each other in different activities.

Starting off with a parade complete with flag carriers, and a torch relay, athletes then battled it out competing for medals.

Activities included the tug of war, football shooting competition, skyscraper build, accuracy throwing, table top straw football, a sack relay race, hula hoop relay and others.

Children were also given a talk about the Olympics, which included its history and the importance of fair play.

Bronze went to team Canada, silver was won by the French and scooping gold was children competing for Germany.
