A mother has admitted a string of benefit frauds amounting to nearly £30,000.

Nighat Ali, 36, of Barley Mead in Cox Green appeared at Maidenhead Magistrates' Court on Friday where she admitted six charges relating to benefit fraud between 2004 and 2009.

Ten counts of false accounting were withdrawn by the crown prosecution service after Mrs Ali repaid a sum of £5,000.

The mother-of-two spoke only to confirm her name, address, date of birth and enter a guilty plea.

Sentencing was adjourned until Friday, March 12, at Slough Magistrates' Court while a pre-sentence report is prepared.

  • So, exactly what's the difference between the MP's dodgy second home flipping / expenses and someone like this? Apart from she probably has a lot less money than the politicians who've been caught scamming the system. Both being paid for by us taxpayers. Don't think shell be able to get away with saying she made an "administrative error" though eh!Gary
