Spate of number plate thefts

A number plate was stolen from a car in Marlow some time between Sunday and Monday in the latest in a spate of similar crimes.

The rear registration plate was snatched from the green Rover parked in Sandygate Road in Marlow. It was taken some time between 7pm on Sunday and 5.30pm on Monday.

In the past two weeks vehicles in Shelly Road, Marlow, and Winchbottom Lane, Little Marlow, have also had their number plates stolen.

Tamper-proof screws are available from the front desk of Marlow police station.

  • I always thought Marlow police station was shut to the public. When I went there to hand in a purse I had found, it was closed and I had to use the phone by the front door. I didn't actually bother to use the phone, in case I was accused of stealing the purse or shot by a police marksman who mistook the purse for chair leg. I just left the purse by the front door.Ian
