Tango Fire - review

Tango Fire at Wycombe Swan reviewed by Sally Ellison.

The smoky, atmospheric Café del Tango sets the scene for this festival of passionate dancing.

The women were dressed to kill as they danced in heels that I would have struggled to stand in. The men were sleek and smooth with plenty of wiggle in their hips.

Estampas Portenas claim to be Argentina’s hottest tango company and they were very hot indeed. As they danced through a series of fast and furious tangos in pairs and as a perfectly synchronised group the atmosphere was electric.

Knee joints were flexed as legs flicked all over the place with astonishing speed and accuracy. If only it were as easy as they made it look.

The second half was more orchestral, showcasing the talents of the very accomplished musicians. As the show progressed the tangos become more physical with the men showing off their strength as they lifted and threw their partners with gusto.

A very professional show which   provided great entertainment.
