Unofficial taxi rank is a danger to the public
10:43am Fri 12th Mar 10I am writing to you concerning taxi drivers who run their businesses from public parking spaces in Ludlow Road.
I regularly collect my husband or daughter from a train that arrives at 5.40pm. When I get to Ludlow Road to try to park for five or 10 minutes, all I can see is taxi drivers everywhere parked in the parking spaces, parked on double yellow lines, whizzing up and down the road and turning round wherever it suits them.
Apart from leaving me nowhere to park legitimately, the drivers’ awareness of pedestrians, cyclists and other motorists is absolutely nil.
Several times my husband and I have been shouted at very rudely, simply for driving along the road or trying to park. Apart from the inconvenience, I’m very concerned that someone will be seriously injured.
