Alexandra Legouix is dreaming of Glastonbury call up in 2010 after winning a BBC Introducing award.
This 28-year-old from Cox Green received the accolade for her chilled-out acoustic-track Drawing Me.
As a winner of the prestigious prize she could see herself on the BBC Introducing Stage at major festivals around the country including Glastonbury and Reading.
The former Redroofs student said: “The stuff I write is funky almost Latin and it’s a style that I really like singing in.”
Leguoix is currently working on material with seventies rocker Les Payne as well as her writing partner, Martyn Ellis, a Marlow-based musician.
The laid-back feel of her most recent offerings is a world away from the chaotic trance scene where she made a name for herself signing on the famous Gatecrasher tours.
She still finds herself inundated with top dance-producers like DJ Lost Witness, asking her to feature on tracks.
It is an exciting time for the part-time drama teacher and she hopes her recent critical acclaim will propel her career even further.
She said: “I would really love to be picked for the big festivals but my ultimate aim for the year is to get even more tracks out there as well as an album.”
