This four piece band from Slough fall into the Brit-rock genre and describe themselves as having a rather ‘unique’ style.
And the name? The inspiration for Fried Squirrel actually came from a documentary about none other than the King of Rock n’ Roll himself, Elvis Presley, where it was discovered that he enjoyed the rather unusual delicacy of our fried garden friends.
The truth of the fact irrelevant, the band found this to be a suitably unique name for their unique musical style and so Fried Squirrel came alive.
So far Fried Squirrel has recorded three rough demos, all of which are available to listen to on their MySpace page. They are currently in the beginning stages of recording an album with Swipe Music, a young person’s charity based in Slough. The band are heavily involved in Swipe Music which gives them the opportunity to use rehearsal spaces, take drum and guitar lessons and partake in competitions.
In 2010 they have reached the area finals of the Vodaphone Live and Unsigned contest, one step away from the final at the O2 in London.
