WATCH: Cookham 'Green Granny' is a Youtube hit

A granny has shot to fame by showing thousands how to make the most of stale bread all thanks to the world wide web. 

Barbara Walmsley admits that she never estimated how many eyes would pry at her home-made video which shows the 71 year-old giving tips on how to save money. 

The Cookham resident has dedicated her life to Oxfam by raising money through an annual 38-hour fast and setting up 12 bridal departments in the UK.

Now she is getting a taste of fame after the video, which is part of Oxfam's Green Granny campaign, has had more than 230,000 hits on YouTube.

"I have been in magazines, national papers and on television," said Barbara whose video focuses on life during the Second World War.
